Shelter From Shock; Blood IV Fluid Warmer

Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS), Todd LeDuc and AJ Heightman, October 2001

October 01, 2001

Contemporary trauma literature states you should initiate IV fluids only after you’ve begun transport of severely traumatized patients to limit the impact of prehospital time delays. When you establish vascular access, use of such devices as the Thermal Angel allows you to actively warm IV fluids for core rewarming.
